View Full Version : Creative Portraits: Beauty from India Peter S 01-07-2007, 04:31 PM Well I hope you'll like this one as much as I did.
First one lots of smoothing. a small adjust with Lucis (a new toy I got).
Second carried on with Impressionist, then duped changed mode to overlay, ran Bas Relief filter. changed opacity down to about 50% as was a little harsh. this was still too much so added a layer mask and added render difference clouds to soften the effect a little.
Looking forward to some real crackers here, enjoy.

Steve MargaretM 01-08-2007, 11:02 AM Photoshop and Painter. Wonderful colors in this image.
MargaretM palms1 01-08-2007, 01:20 PM Thanks Peter another nice image
this is a bit of a cross between pwl and smudge ( not quite cspringers illustrated look but maybe one day ! ! ! ! )
decided to leave what i think is a hanky of some sort in her top as i to have been guilty of doing that
Palms LQQKER 01-08-2007, 01:25 PM Nice renditions posted.
Danny - Very painterly and authentic look. Nice example. :classic: Kraellin 01-08-2007, 01:27 PM danny,
along with lqqker, i concur. and i can see why you didnt post it on RetouchPRO directly. all those great paint strokes would have been lost or subdued. Peter S 01-08-2007, 02:03 PM Ditto from me Danny. Just how did you get all that detail into 97.76 kB.
Palms I think your right it is a hanky, I was too interested in the rest to even notice that one. (DOH) palms1 01-10-2007, 01:15 PM another try from me very pretty girl
Palms lkroll 01-10-2007, 03:44 PM Pixel Trash set to Value; copied the original on Top layer and set it to Saturation (adjusted Opacity to taste). Opened it up in Photoshop and set to @Wetter2 (Paint Engine) and added canvas (well I also used gamut replacement to enhance the color/sat of the piece). :)
Here (http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/2179/wumxkwfb42eh0.jpg)'s the full version. :) DannyRaphael 01-10-2007, 04:36 PM Ditto from me Danny. Just how did you get all that detail into 97.76 kB.Nothing special... just ran it through Photoshop's File > Save for Web dialog and specified 99Kb in the Optimize > To File Size dialog.
The image is in fact posted at RetouchPRO in the "Snap Art" thread here (http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/photo-art-tutorials-techniques/15906-software-alien-skin-snap-art.html).
Thanks to each of you for the kind words on my interpretation. I was pleasantly surprised at what I thought was a pretty decent looking oil painting effect based on Snap Art's "pastel" filter. LOL :) Janet Petty 01-12-2007, 07:19 PM This is a gorgeous photo. Do we get to credit the photographer and tell him/her how good it is?
I had fun experimenting with a boatload of techniques. I hope ya'll like the result as much as I've enjoy the results of others.

Janet, I'm pretty certain that this is from the "old" El Dorado site.
Peter - do you have a new link, or did you have this image stashed away?

Rô
Ro you are exactly right. I downloaded quite a few before it disappeared. I only wish I had taken more.
Peter Thought this one deserved a bit of AHB.
(... and I just love watching the little brush scribble away all by itself.)
Rô sylvia1065 01-13-2007, 06:38 PM Beautiful picture! Thanks for posting it.
I did this one with a faint layer of Lucisart, some smudging and color shifts.
Sylvia alexmeta 01-13-2007, 08:25 PM Really nice photo, Peter.
Virtual Painter - Gothic+Pastel styles. slidefoot 03-07-2007, 04:38 AM Lightly accent the subject, too much salt will ruin the soup... first visit for a while so I thought i would have a try,
Lightened it with shadow illuminator, sketch filter, snap art and messed about with the layers and opacity. |
