One of my own this time.
Taken at Dicot Railway Centre during the summer last year. The quality is not that great, it was a miserable rainy overcast day, but after playing with it the pic has come out OK (at least I think so).

They have a short working line there and this chap had been going up and down for hours, so he got a slight thirst.

Used Lucisart but not for everything there is a lot of Photoshopping going on in there.

Peter

Here is a link to their site if anyone is interested in steam engines.
It's a great place to take the kids.

Fun pic to play with - thanks Peter. :bigthmb:

AHB (pencil) and lots of "post" work. Had to "scrunch" it down to 100K, but it seems to have survived well.

interesting highlighting there, peter and a good pic.

good to see you back in production, Ro! nice piece.

Ro I know what you mean about the scrunching down, the 100k limit can be a killer.
Thats a nice one, and it has survived, very nice texture to it.
Here is another one from the same place, a more traditional type of picture of a steam engine.
One rule though - enjoy doing it.

Way too lazy tonight, so a silhouette is due. I attached both the PNG file and the zipped vector (SVG) file for those who have an SVG viewer. :)

Nice textures there, I've been struggling with textures lately and can't quite get them how I would wish.

lkroll

Very smooth silhouette there I don't think that was as easy as you make it look.

Very nice - did you get the simplifier plugin?

Steve

He may be related, he does visit this place every Christmas (With Santa)

Peter, thank you for the photos.
I made a sketch that looks sketchy indeed.

Great photos to work with Peter. Very good renditions from everybody.

On mine I started with Swampy's line effect on both ...used Danny's impressionist Oil plug-in on the second image.

Swampy's and Danny's tools are quickly becoming my favorites ...thank you so much for your contributions.

Nice ones JimJam.

I new you wouldn't let me down.
Not sure which I like best, though i'm leaning a bit to the first.

Pavel you are going to wear out that paint brush of yours. Another Painter one I take it.

Peter, fantastic photo to play with...thanks! I love your version with Lucis... has just the right "smoky" look to it. And your later illustration of the engine is great too.

Ro, great job with AHB... good detail, even in this small file size.

Kroll, what a perfect pic to silhouette! Well done!

Palms, good use of aniso with outline!

Steve, nice "Sunday comics" look... VP collage?

Pavel, I don't know which I like more, your sketch or your painting... both terrific!

JimJam, love that orange sketchy one!

Thanks Phyllis, I've got loads of pics I've taken from this place (my kids love going there), but if I posted them all people would get bored of train pictures I think.
By the way thats not all smoke from the engine, it was a very overcast day so its mostly clouds (British weather for you), but I was pleased how it turned out.

And I have to agree with you about the other posts - all very very good. Though I think I prefer Pavels Sketchy thing more myself.
