| View Full Version : How do you do THIS?? mhkitty8880 02-23-2007, 05:04 PM http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/9159/shadowbridewh8.jpg Does anybody know how to create that shadow frame effect??? Thank you!!!!! Love you, Meg 1STLITE 02-23-2007, 05:17 PM Create a new layer, use your round (can't remember what it's called at this moment - oval maybe?) marquee tool to make a selection. I usually guesstimate the size, starting in one corner and dragging diagonally to the opposite corner. Select Inverse, then fill with black. After that you just deselect and gaussian blur to where you want it, play then with the opacity - drag that down til you are happy. Something else fun is to set the blend mode to overlay instead of normal, or set one to overlay and one to normal, and reduce opacity on the normal layer. mhkitty8880 02-23-2007, 06:04 PM Phew! I don't think I'm doing it the way you said, 'cause I didn't understand 100%, BUT... I think it's working. What do you think? http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/9492/charlotteanneshadowae8.jpg Thanks for the help!!! Love, Meg 1STLITE 02-23-2007, 06:16 PM Yep - that's about it. How much blur and how much you leave it black as opposed to being able to see through it is going to vary by image and what you want to do with it. Janet Petty 02-23-2007, 06:36 PM It looks as if you have it; but here is a visual that might help. You can turn down the opacity of the vignette to suit your needs. Janet mhkitty8880 02-23-2007, 06:58 PM So... I've been doing Selections, Elipse, making my selection, Selection, Invert, Bucket fill black at 80%-ish opacity, Delecting, and Effects, Gaussian Blur like 20. I'm also using Jasc Paint Shop Pro, in case that makes a huge difference. Am I doing it right? mhkitty8880 02-23-2007, 07:22 PM Ooh! Check me out! Heehee! :) http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/8550/kissblurcolorqj1.jpg |
