View Full Version : Sunrise cardmnal 02-25-2007, 01:05 PM There is a song by the '70s rock band, Uriah Heep called "Sunrise:. The chorus goes something like this:
Sunrise,
Bless my eyes.
Bless my soul.
Make me whole again,
Sunrise.
I remember that chorus every time I get up (and out) early enough to catch a scene like this.
The second version is a watercolor done in deep paint2.
Alan lkroll 02-25-2007, 03:10 PM All done by filters; too bad I never outline nor can give a precise step by step since I did so many experimentations and undos. lol
Started out in GIMP with bumpmapping and selective just the black and adding a canvas texture to the black. I then flattened and ran GREYCstoration. I then ported it in CS2 and ran Angled Brushstrokes and Glass Distortion for some subtle jiggling. Speaking of jiggling, I also ran Eye Candy with Jiggle preset. I then added an almost imperceptible Glaze using Paint Engine and then ported the result back to GIMP to do some added variable Canvas work (yes I can do this in CS2, but I still like using GIMP better). :) palms1 02-26-2007, 12:44 PM OK so there is a downside to not being a early bird, dont get to see the sunrise's :heul:
used the cutout filter for this one

Steve C. CJ Swartz 02-26-2007, 02:02 PM Wonderful image, Alan! Those tree silhouettes offer a lovely contrast to that colorful sky.
Nice work, Lyle, Palms, Steve! I love sunrises also, but sunsets are available at a more convenient time. ;) barbara 03-01-2007, 07:37 PM here again I try to simulate Buzz..
I hope, I go in good direction
(I can't compare, I can't have Buzz because they don't think about Linux users)
I used Gimp  on Linux palms1 03-02-2007, 04:28 AM here again I try to simulate Buzz..

Palms Kraellin 03-02-2007, 07:19 AM nice, barbara. reminds me of watercolor on construction paper. barbara 03-02-2007, 09:10 PM palms, Kraellin - thank you both for friendly comments
I will try again "to buzz some pictures", now I will look for something with trees/plants
- on green trees the result of original simplifier is most specific/recognizable , I'm right ? palms1 03-03-2007, 06:46 AM [QUOTE=barbara]palms, Kraellin - thank you both for friendly comments

Palms GerryB 03-07-2007, 04:20 PM Looking through a glass block wall. Janet Petty 03-07-2007, 07:30 PM Really neat effect Gerry. I like it a lot and never in a million years would I have thought of making it a scene through a glass wall.
Janet jch71566 03-08-2007, 12:08 PM What a beautiful picture, and all of the renditions are awesome.
I finally had to try it. Modified saturation, and mostly used "Enhance Edges" selectively.
Enjoy! | |
