Looking for critiques of this image. Basically, converted from RAW, levels, Akvis sketch plugin.
This is my son & grandson (his nephew) shortly after Nicholas was born. My son made the comment later that the first time he held him, every cell in his body changed. It seems there is an unbreakable bond between uncle & nephew already.
Thank you for any comments.

I think this image is probably too grainy to be done as a sketch. In my experience the only images that work as sketches are (a) shot with very low ISO's, and (b) shot with studio lighting to prevent shadowing. Both grain and the narrow shadows caused by OCF will make it look iffy.
I do, however, think that this would be a good shot for B&W. The most of the color is in the same basic brightness range and it makes the image look a little flat. A good channel mixer conversion will give it a little punch.
I also softened the appearance of the hole in his ear and removed the razor burn from his neck.
Cheers,
Michael

Thanks for your comments. This was shot in very low light (1/10th @ f2.8 ISO1600) which explains the grainy part. Handholding at that speed didn't help matters either.
Thanks again for commenting.
