The theme for March was chosen by the winner of our February competition -- discinque --

His Photo Assignment: "Life on a Window Sill"

**March 25th -- I changed the time again because I won't be home from work until after midnight GMT, so we all have a bit more time to come up with an entry.
Time-frame for shooting your image: March 2, 2007 (today) to March 28th, 2007 (a Wednesday) at 3am Greenwich Mean Time. (No, Gary, I'm not giving in, it's just earlier for me on a work night ;) ) I THINK that translates to 8pm MST, but most of the US will be on Daylight Savings Time (not me) by then, and you'll have to figure it out or look it up HERE: GMT - Greenwich Mean Time (http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/) . :dizzy:
Then we'll have some time to vote before the next month starts.

What info do you submit? Tell us when you shot the image, any shooting info you have (shutter speed, ISO, f-stop, filters used, post-processing (normal photo processing allowed - sharpening, adjust exposure -- this isn't the place for art filters [we have forums for that too!])

Feel free to add info about what/where you shot, and why you chose your subject/composition, etc. when you post your image in this thread.

What does the winner get? The winner gets to choose the next assignment PLUS gets all the nice accolades that come from being chosen "Winner".

Post your photo submissions in this thread, and we'll have the separate thread for discussion of this assignment and your comments regarding any of the entries that strike your fancy.

This is my "different" take on the theme.
Life on a Window Sill, or in this case Reflection of a window on a "Life on a windows cyl-inder" :lol:
Plant is a garden pea that my kids have been growing on wet paper, on our window sill. Hard drive is a fujitsu MPC3032AT with it's casing removed, and it does have "Windows" 98 on it.

Camera data:
Fuji Finepix S3000
Filters = 1 polariser and a +2 lens
Shutter speed = 1/190 sec
F-stop = f/4.8
ISO = 100
Focal length = 6.0mm
Flash = none

Photoshop:
Desaturated background, cropped and reduced noise.

Here's mine, not much life on this Window sill, except maybe for the spiders webs on the other side, but it's probably as near as I can find.

Camera: Canon Digital Ixus v3
Exposure: 1/50 sec
Stop: f2.8

No adjustments, other than cloned out a minor obstruction.

I got this pic today while watching the ants try to escape from the rain. There were plenty on the window sill but most of them were camer shy. This little guy posed nicely for me...he must have been photographed before :)

Camera: Panasonic FZ20
F Stop: 2.8
exp: 1/30
ISO: 200
10X macro lense
The only processing was "Save for Web" to get it small enough to upload here and a resize.

I title this shot "Man calling the Man to tell him he's stuck in traffic"

Shot with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 @ iso 100 | f4.5 | 1/13.

I lost my keys on the subway to work and had to wait for someone else to show up to the studio to let me in. It was very cold, so I gravitated to the coffee smell. I heard this guy calling his boss to tell him that traffic is a nightmare and that once they clear the accident, he should make it in no time to the meeting.

This is life on my windowsill:

...You woke me up. To take my picture? Why? I'm lazy, sunny, warm, and sleepy. Oh, just hurry up and let me get back to my nap....

Janet

Ooops, I forgot to add the metadata. F4 at ISO400 at 2000 of a second. 90 mm zoom on a 24-105 lens.
