I was looking for a different image at Stock Xchange when I ran across this image. Beautiful in its own right, but it should be fun to work on.

What could be done to this one?
I don't know.
But here is my attempt with Art History.

Artistic Portrait -

This is an outstanding photograph, it was enjoyable to work with...

Graphics #1 - I added light coming from the upper left to balance the image.

Graphics #2 - I added light to the upper left wall to balance the image..

"During world war 2, four days after the Allied landings in Normandy, Nazi SS troops encircled the town of Oradour in the rolling farm country of the Limousin and rounded up its inhabitants. In the marketplace they divided the men from the women and children. The men were marched off to barns nearby and shot. The soldiers locked the women and children in the church, shot them, and set the building (and the rest of the town) on fire. Those residents of Oradour who had been away for the day, or had managed to escape the roundup, returned to a blackened scene of horror, carnage, and devastation."

I just thought that a picture of Oradour as it looks today, along with the child in prayer, might be appropriate.

Hey Amy; hope this little girl prays for me and my family too; dad's going under the knife Wednesday, and any prayer is definitely appreciated. :)

Steve,
It's amazing you would know about Oradour!
I'm from Normandy, and we do know what happened there, of course, but I wonder if our youngsters know as much as you do...

All the best for your Dad, Lyle...

Sylvia
