Does such a thing exist? Most of the free stuff I've seen is cartoonish or game-y.
Anyone have any links?

Not the best, but better than most I've seen. http://www.zoorender.com Racc Iria 06-22-2007, 08:08 AM With 3D models you pretty much get what you pay for. A high quality model takes a lot of work and most people don't like giving that much work away for free. Most of the time the free models are going to be fairly low res/low poly models. That said, if you're using a more professional 3D app there are ways to clean them up, increase their resolution, and make them more useful. One of the better places you can check out is TurboSquid (http://www.turbosquid.com/). They have models at all price levels, including free. And sometimes you can find free or low cost models that are decent quality. pixelzombie 06-24-2007, 12:53 AM i had found some great models a while back when i was a bryce-aholic..most of them were Star Wars models but they were very well done, you just have to be patient and search quite abit... byRo 06-24-2007, 09:24 PM If you're talking about human figures, then Apollo Maximus (http://www.antonkisieldesigns.com/~akfiles/htmlpages/ApolloMaximusFree3dhumanfigure.htm) seems to be the best option. Rô creeduk 06-28-2007, 06:29 AM Doug try turbo Squid, you can join for free and they don't just have pay models these days. Depending on the subject matter they have some reasonable ones for free or starting cheap. I have grabbed some every now and then when I am rushed, they are simple and I don't have time to model it myself. |
