Okay all you smudge painters... Get out your best brushes and let's see your smudged versions of this cute raccoon.

There is very little that I love more than smudge painting! Gorgeous little fellow!

Sorry can't find my smudge brush anywhere - bad eyes don't ya know.

This will have to do.

Peter

You knew I'd say that didn't you Swampy?

Smudge painting is something I've only tried a couple times, but here is my version. Kinda lost it in the whiskers and lower neck where his (her?) hair goes willy-nilly.

Thank you Swampy and Peter, It is great to see a smudge thread and the other smudges which are excellent and shows the diversity of the technique

Hi Swampy,

Nice image to work with Thanks for posting it.

Ok here's my take on what this fine little fellow should look like once smudge painted.

Hope ya'll enjoy.

TLB... That is fantastic. How did you get that soft grainy look?

Hey Swampy,

Hm I used Paint Shop Pro v8.10 and the softness came from smudge painting it and the grainy look was achieved by applying Effects/Brush Strokes with the setting set to Softness=2 Length=15 Density=25 Bristles=13 width=10 Opacity=0 Angle=143 Color=#5B5B5B.

This is one of my favorite presets for this tool! :bigthmb: LOL

I haven't found away to achieve this effect in Photoshop :o: but some other's here may be able to get something real close. Hopefully!

Hope this help.

I can see why it's one of your favorites! It does add a wonderful softness to the smudging.

Thanks swampy I hope you and everyone else get plenty of use out of the effect.

Oh and Swampy I should have stated above that I haven't found a way to achieve this effect using Photoshop Elements 3 not Photoshop. :o:
