 Before i spend a lot of cash on a decent graphics tablet,I purchased a NISIS G2 GRAPHICS TABLET.
Basically I have :
1.installed the software (XP downloaded from Nisis)
2.Connected Hardware
3.Only signs of activity,is the F1 flashing constantly on the graphics tablet itself,constant..I have no manuals,to verify if this awaiting an input from Pen/mouse.
4.I looked in the control panel/system/hardware ...the Nisis PEN/MOUSE are installed,ni conflicts, exclamation marks etc.
5. Looked in control panel/easypen (software supplied/installed) this allows me to define working area,inches/cms,change click 1/2 etc
*However there is a button to TEST the device, and this does NOT respond..
:) even after trying the vulcan mind meld, and chanting "you will work"
several times.......

I lost my hair many years ago...so if anyone can suggest anything i`d be most grateful....

Sorry, Makem Magic... I'm on a Mac and can't help you. Perhaps one of the PC gurus will chime in.

I might not be much help towards solving your problem but I'll share what I've been able to find.

That should be the NISIS G2 tablet.
Through googling I've confirmed that Aiptek and NISIS are the same company or at least related - http://www.aiptek.com.tw/english/service/faq_dv.htm

All of the tablets under the Aiptek name take the same drivers.
Models: Hyper Pen 4000U / 5000U / 6000U / 8000U / 12000U
http://www.goaiptek.com/drivers/drivers.htm = version 2.8
http://www.aiptek.com/drivers.htm = version 3.08 USB
http://www.aiptek.de/index.php?option=com_download = version 3.04 6000U
http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=139847 = RS232 version 3.23 - not for USB tablets I would imagine but it's what I found at that site.
I couldn't find a Nisis website.

So... if you think it's driver related there are some places to start. I once had a 12x12 Aiptek tablet. Your pen has a battery right? It wouldn't hurt to check the battery. I'm pretty sure that the light on that tablet would blink when the pen wasn't close enough for the tablet to detect it. Speaking as someone who used an Aiptek for a few years and then eventually bit the bullet and plunked down the cash for a Wacom, the Wacom tablets are worth every penny. I bought a 9x12 Intuos3 and even though I really wish it didn't cost so much it's freakin worth it! Much better build quality, no batteries, more pressure sensitivity + some other features Aiptek tablets just don't offer at all.
