How do I make a stomach appear flat or toned?

Here is the image that has brought this question up. (I have only posted the middle section of the photo).

I have included my quick attempt (just a rough draft, no final touches) at it, but the owner of that stomach doesn't want that small pooch there at all.

Anyone have experience with this?

Hi Steph

I think you did a good job... still feminine.
I played awhile and used a little more shading to tone but i think my version looks too masculine

I have yet to see a woman (or young girl) look shapely in a midrift shirt and hip huggers. Let's face it. The "natural" contour of a woman's body, no matter her age or weight, has a "pooch" in the area of the belly. Any form of the above haut "style" tends to emphasize this area. Even a "skinny" woman can appear to have a beer belly when wearing this stuff.

Then to complain about it when they see a photo of themselves is almost funny. What? Do they not see (and talk about) the other women who probably "should not wear those styles" and be in complete denial of their own love handles when confronted with the photo evidence?

Air brush it out!!!! Bawwwaaaaa. LOLOL

I see the problem has been resolved but good practice for me. Probably a little too much on the flattening.
