Hi everyone, I am new to this site. I am a photoshop cs user and I am so excited to learn new tricks to retouch my photos. I have some old family pics that I am trying to restore before a family reunion and would love some advice.

I retored this photo below, but I feel I still have a green hue that I see not able to eliminate. Could you give me some cc on how to improve this photo.

play with the neutral channel, the white channel, and the cyan or yellow channel.....should get you to where you need to be

I think you've done a decent job on the restore, and I see your point about the green hue, if you don't mind I just took your retouched version and added a sepia layer to it set on "soft light" mode (you can tone the effect down by lowering the opacity) then I added a curves layer just to bring back the shadows and the highlights little.
I'm sure there will be more specialized members giving you better advise than me but I thought I'd give it a try anyway.

You might just try adding a color balance adjustment layer and playing with the sliders until you get something you like better. That's what I did...

Your shadows are too dark. You want to even out the exposure a little. Try Image>Adjustments>Shadow/Highlight.

You know every time I look at it I can't decide if I note a green, yellow or blue tint. It is much easier to tell with the newer photos, but I really like what you did. Thanks Donna

I used the color cast detection and repair tool from the DCE Tools Plug-in (http://www.mediachance.com/download.htm) it detected a blue and green color cast and corrected it.

The Plug-in can be downloaded from the link and it's completely functional.

Ok here is my try using the plug in. I love it!! TFS

First did a basic colour adjustment using a levels adj layer.

New Hue/Sat adj layer, selected Greens and adjusted hue, saturation, and lightness to get the result I wanted.

Made no attempt to address any of the other issues with this pic.

Levels adjustment using the eyedroppers and setting black as inside the Window, white as the top shoulders of the blouses and they grey point as the little girl's pants

On a Duplicate, I did a Levels adjustment with the eyedroppers. (White on the man on the right's collar, Black on the man on the left's pants leg, and gray on the Man on the right's outter pants leg). Duplicated that result, inverted and changed that new layer to Overlay mode.

Ok here is my try using the plug in. I love it!! TFS
