Lot less pics to look through than last time, so voting was a little easier (give us a wider scope next winner please).

1st Janet Petty As everybody probably knows I'm a dog person so I couldn't get my Dobermans to sit on the window sill, but I loved this picture of Janet's cat, it just looks so laid back and contented.

2nd Chris Hoggy Great photo, but not sure it fully fills the brief, for all we know it might be a Mac HDD and not have Windows on it at all.

3rd Scuba Margie Nice bit of close observation to spot and photograph the ant, pity it couldn't have been a touch bigger (limits of camera's capability I suppose).

Gary Richardson - great photo of a sadly neglected window sill. Shame on you for not fixing that hole sooner...but then you wouldn't have such a nice picture. No offense taken I hope.
chrishoggy - Well executed. Well thought out.
ScubaMargie - I liked the picture of the ant. I did, however, wish the ant had been photographed larger (more macro).

Kudos to the man in the window phoning his boss. The reason this one did not get picked was that I felt it didn't meet the theme.

1/ Janet Petty Great capture and you can read the cats thoughts, just by the look on his/her face.

2/ Gary Richardson Nice clean image, that showed the hard life the window sill has had. Reminded me of the old pit house I lived in as a kid, with old wooden windows that were falling to bits.

3/ Scuba Margie. would have taken first place IMHO if it had been a little closer shot (same as others have said) Still a great image.

1: chrishoggy: For a very unique take on the assignment. Loved the reflction of the window as well.
2: Gary Richardson: Love the look of old windowsills. This one is particularly cool with its nicks and bumps.
3: Janet Petty: I love cats, this one is absolutely gorgous. Nice shot.

#1: Chrishoggy: Clever.
#2:Gary Richardson: I tend to respond to textures and use of color. Have you ever checked out the Ellis Island photos by Stephen Wilkes? http://www.stephenwilkes.com/main.html
#3: ScubaMargie: I wish the ant were bigger, too. But I like the squared shapes the window and sill make.

Janet, I feel a little guilty because there's always one left out due the number of entries. I have lots of cat-in-window photos myself. Perhaps you're right about mine not fitting the theme. I probably should have written that he was literally sitting on the window sill, and not on a bench or table.

Oh no, we have a draw. Looks like it's time for pistols at dawn
Only joking :lmao:

It's over to you Janet, as I had a hand in choosing the first assignment.

I wonder what we are going to get for our next one? Be kind Janet

I only have a minute as I have people waiting on me.

First: Thanks all. Good subject. Good fun.

Second: The theme: The human condition.

There. How is that for a broad subject? Enjoy.

It is truly comforting to know that our forum members are friendly and supportive even during competitions. I looked in to see if it was time to count the votes and found that the winner had already been decided even though there were tying votes for first. I salute you all for your efforts and submissions, and salute our new winner, Janet Petty for her winning entry.

Congratulations, Chris and Gary for garnering other top shares of the voting.

I'll post the new thread for April's submissions, and hope that I get myself out with my camera to take part.

Well done Janet, well deserved.

Now, what can I snap as indicative of the human condition ????

Thanks all. Next month it will be someone else's turn. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Gary, anything you want. Anything at all. The problem will be deciding which picture rather than what to shoot. I'm such a little
