Anyone having any luck using these plugins for cutting out low contrast backgrounds? Fluidmask works on selecting like colors however I seem to have better luck with Photoshop extract. Most issues is when backgrounds 'wrap' around subject. Many thanks.

Kevin what would be nice is if you could post low contrast. I think it would be interesting have people here apply their favorite extraction tools to it...since most people do not have all extraction tools available to them we all might be able to learn a thing or two.

I don't use the plugins very much for most extractions...they seem great at first but then you spend forever cleaning it up. When possible I'll use the pen tool or eraser (normal and background) I'll get it right the first time even if it takes longer...Now when hair is involved I use first GML2 and second Knockout2.

the Extract Filter in Photoshop works fine for me. play with your settings so more....

I think I've tried every masking utility or technique out there, but when it comes to low contrast extractions, hand work is the only way to go. It's pains taking, tedious work especially on low quality shots. Studio shots usually have sufficient lighting and chroma backgrounds that lend themselves better to the task.
