I've been hanging around this forum for a couple of weeks now. I've seen some amazing things form many experts here and I've been learning alot. I've been taking pictures for several years now and have just purchased a Fuji S9000 camera. It's a big step up from the Fuji Finepix 3800 I've been using. I love working in photoshop and also paint shop pro plus photoimpact. My biggest problem right now is getting my photo's to print as I see them on the screen. I've done my best calibrating the monitor but the prints are always darker then they look on the screen. Anyway, I just wanted to say HI and say how much I appriaciate the help I've received by reading the posts.

Hi DPeterson,

Welcome to RetouchPro.

Prints will always look to have less "sparkle" than how you see them on screen.

Displays use additive mixing with light to produce their image colours and tones, whereas prints use subtractive mixing to produce their image.

The gamut for additive mixing is larger than that for subtractive mixing, so there are often subtle differences between what's produced on screen and what can be printed.
