Thank you Ant 05-05-2007, 06:09 PM I really like the color pallette you have introduced. There is something about her face that is too bright. The eyes may be, and the whole of the face. Perhaps I would have reduced/removed the shinyness of her face and not brushed away so much of the shadows and then brightened her face a bit overall. I also liked seeing the part of her hair in the before. Andreas Gallas 05-06-2007, 01:51 PM Hi Ant, beside creating a certain style my goal was also to get more focus on the model, especially her face, eyes, hair... by improving the contrast betwin skin, lips, hair... and by working in a reduced, desaturated color space. But yes, may be you are right and I've overdone the "skin brightening". I'll try a version where I'll go a step back and see how it works. Thanks a lot for your sharing your thoughts! Swampy 05-06-2007, 05:26 PM I'm kinda with Ant. Something about her eyes.. too sharp for the over all effect maby. And I don't particularly like the blue highlights in her hair. That has a comic book look. But I do like the rest of the effect and the background is excellent. Andreas Gallas 05-07-2007, 08:09 AM Thanks Swampy... So here is a version with reduced shine in her face and reduced blue shimmer in the hair, I hope the comic fans will not be offended :-) Swampy 05-07-2007, 10:16 AM Andreas... That is almost perfect. I zoomed in and have found what was bothering me about the eyes. The gap in the eye lashes in the area that I have circled. Those areas just look like a blob compared to the high contrast and detail of the rest of the photo. I do like it much better without the blue highlights! Wonderful. Wonderful color! Andreas Gallas 05-08-2007, 04:59 AM I see! This is probably a reflexion caused by a flash. Removing it, may also remove a bit life of her look, but I'll try a mild reduction. Thanks again Swampy! MadChapelier 05-24-2007, 04:11 PM I like the effect and think it looks great- as you said it's somewhat comic booky, though if you were going for that effect you would need some stronger outline colors to accentuate the woman (though not necessarily the rest of the scene). One quick and simple way is using poster edges on a duplicate layer and erasing what you don't need then fading it to like 10%. Then if you have CS, use the reduce noise filter to get rid of the rigidness of the posterization. Like so... If you weren't going for the comic book style, then disregard this post ;) |
