Hi, Sky!

I'm posting the tutorials on my .mac account. Apple, in their infinite wisdom limits the badwidth usage to 12.5 GB every 2 weeks. (I get a total of 25GB for the month, but for some reason they restrict it to 2 week periods at 12.5 per 2 weeks.)

Anyway, I was very close to the limit last time I checked so they will shut access to my site down if I go over until the next 2 week period (which would be the 16th of the month).

Try back on the 16th. Sorry for the inconvenience. I tried putting this stuff up on YouTube, since it's free, but they compress the videos even more and can really make them hard to view.

I'm with skydog on this one I'm affraid, I get on your home page but when I try to access any videos I just get a blank page.....I've even pasted the url into Quick time player and all I get, after a loading time, is an unknown error occured number -8971. :depressed

If you get error -8971, you may have QuickTime, but not the latest version.

When's the last time you updated QT? These are M4p files, not .mov. The m4p codec allows for smaller file compression with better video quality. Your version of QT may not be new enough to translate .m4p.

Nowp, quicktime says it's upto date.

I don't know what to tell you. You on a PC? Running Vista by any chance. QT and Vista don't play well together. I checked the link on my neighbor's PC (XP pro) and it works fine. I'm stumped.

Ah, I've got it working, but not directly from the link. I uninstalled then reinstalled QT, then go to your site, click on link and copy the url and then paste it into QT and it works......cheers......John :)

I've had similar problems when just (left) clicking directly on the Photo Art 101 tutorial link.
What worked for me however, was right clicking and selecting "Save destination as.." This will allow you to save the tutorial to your hard disk and start it up from there instantly afterwards (and see the download progress)

Being new here I hope I'm not violating any rules by downloading or suggesting this, but depending on the connection speed even a 10MB file as tutorials can take quite some time to download..

No problem from my standpoint since I did not set any security on the QuickTime file. Feel free to download it. :-)

Don't know why this slipped my mind, but you might want to check your QuickTime Preferences (Properties on a PC?) to make sure you have it set for streaming and that your connection speed is set correctly.

I used Ambrosia Software's SnapZPro for Macintosh then resaved the resulting QT movie (.mov) out of QuickTime in m4p format to recduce the file size a little and add the streaming capability.

Ohh... my grandmom's vegetable soup. It is really good, but it is getting harder to find barley in the super markets.
