You can help me in my learning on using Curves (and other PSPx tools) to remove color cast and adjust colors.

As background, I downloaded samples from the ColorWasher Gallery as before and after images. I then tried a number of tools and techniques to see how close I could come to the supposed ColorWasher after image -- the so-called best.

In the attachment, you pick the one (left or right) I downloaded as the CW "after" image, and tell me, specifically what you did to base your answer. It is not helpful to me if it is "just your eye", or "it is easy to see which one". What did you measure? What did you do? Be as specific as you have time for....I do have PS7 but am trying to use PSPx for this.

I'll come back and tell you what I did or tried to do to get this side by side image.

Thanks for helping,
Ken

Wow, sorry for offending everyone with this question. I suppose the "test" aspect was insulting and that the issue is so basic as not to deserve an answer. Again, my apologies.

I had spent hours on this topic, getting to a point of having the image on the left that I "liked" but seeing that it was obviously different from the downloaded colorwasher image on the right. Eyedropper readings here and there showed a cast but my attempts to remove it resulting in skewed colors elsewhere in the image--really frustrating.

Anyway, sorry I could not have heard some advice on this particular issue from anyone....thanks,

Ken

Ken.. Sorry, but I really didn't understand what you were asking.

Removing color cast: Several different ways to do it and much depends on the photo you have. I don't use Paint Shop Pro so I can't tell you how to do it. Could probably help you if you used Photoshop.

It is easy to tell which one has a colorcast...by definition a colorcast is going to be a color that covers the entire picture which is pretty obvious.
