Hallo,

I have a technical question. I was at a pro retouching house last week for a meeting and saw one of the guys removing dust and minor inperfections by
drawing a lasso around the area.
As I had a meeting I only noticed this not any tool settings but it was like patch
healing without the dragging or spot healing with a lasso instead of a brush...
Does anyone have an idea how this is done?

The Photoshop patch healing tool is the only one I can think of that uses the lasso tool.

there was definetly no dragging, so it must be an advanced brush setting or some kind of automation.

are you sure they weren't pressing any other keys while they were doing it? They could've been deleting from a later to a layer underneath.

Maybe he lassoing an area on a mask and then filling with white or black.
Or copy and paste.
Or ?

Or they did a lasso and ran a median or dust and scratches filter.

they might have been quickly lassoing, and pressing command > F, to run what ever smoothing filter they setup. you would never notice that.

KR...This would be perfect for a soft gaussian blur on the selected areas, they might even have set an action with a keyboard shortcut.
