HDR's and Tonemapping are getting a second wind (other blogs) and this one's getting a few kudos. I'm quite impressed with the results that you can get it and, though more then one image would yield better results, you can feed it a single jpeg and still do some fantastic things with it. The price is right too (open source). :)

I use this before I had Photomatix. It is great for the price but I feel Photomatix was a better bargain (IE I am happy I spent the money over using Qtpfsgui for free).

I've took try on Qtpfsgui it's very good for me(beginer) but there are some questions about 1st of all:

I made 9tifs from a raw, the exp slider (from lightest(+4) to darkest(-4) by steps -1 ) changed and Qtpfsgui couldn't recognise whitch was sequence, so couldn't i set it with the button for. Than i've tried on 3tifs (+1 to -1) and it was working.

If any of You know what is the problem please

At last i got my HDR but actually i made it on a PC (HDRShop). Somehow at the converting from raw, tifs got very starnge values for the exp. by qtpfsgui i couldn't correct them so there was a wrong order of the files. The tonemapping Reinhard 02 function worked well i think here you are the result

Hi Craig,

HDRShop sorts ldrs on a value gotten from exif if i'm right, i think this value changing on the exposure setting, at the exposure setting = 0 it got a number like 165.32 what i recognise in the hdrshop SORT column. Anyway i 'm very new about hdr things so maybe i did something wrong

I thought i would download this and give it a try ( didnt have much luck with photomatix probablt my fault ) well all i can say is give it a go, I have only tried the one image ( time as usual) also used the tonemapping ( missed the bit about size so resized in Photoshop )
Hopefully will be able to have a go over weekend

have included the before and after image ( yes just the one jpg used, will have to try it with 3 or 5 later on )

just thought should of saved and posted just the hdr one sorry

Cool stuff Palms. It's fantastic that you can do Tonemapping with a single jpeg image. I just wish I had the equipment (camera, etc.) and patience to bracket a capture into several exposure settings and try it with Qtpfsgui, but I don't and am a lazy guy. lol

TRY THIS: In Photoshop 16Bit mode 1st i change the sRGB colorprofil to AIMTrinitronD65G1(ASSIGN Profil) this is an rgb space with linear gamma save as 01.jpg. 2nd Orig save as 02.jpg. 3rd change the sRGB colorprofil to AIMTrinitronD65G1 (CONVERT Profil) and than assign sRGB color space save the file 03.jpg. At last make the HDR from these files

what do you think it's better to make HDR from 3 files or Qtpfsgui can solve the same from 1 file?
