I've just been sent a few Tiff images on one of the 36mb mini cd's.
Can a slot type CDr player cope with these ? I know the conventional caddy type will handle them but am loath to experiment with the slot type before some hard information is forthcoming.
Thanks

In theory, yes. At least thats the claim I have heard...no solid evidence thought.... Perhaps you can con someone into trying this out on their machine....Tom

I have a slot type CDr/DVD but the thought of the mini cd failing to return is worrying !

I believe some manufacturers claim their drives will handle mini disc but I have my doubts. I think my old imac warned not to use them in its drive.

Thanks for the info. I've since learned that if you want to read a mini disc in a slot CDr you use a carrier which is essentially a plastic holder of standard CD size into which you clip its smaller brother. Never seen one.
Aha! Good to know. Thanks for passing that on. There's a good chance that could happen to all of us before too long.

Are these just small versions of regular sized cd's? Like half the size in diameter? If this is the size your talking about my son had a game on a tiny one like that and it played fine in our cd reader....but I don't want to take a chance on my new computer so I will stay tuned here.

That’s it but not completely circular. The one I’ve received is 3” in diameter with the edges trimmed to form a convenient rectangle. Hold about 40Mb. Most caddy type CDr’s will handle them having a smaller holder inset into the main tray.
Interesting looking, I read that business cards are going to be used this way, probably already are and I am behind the times!...a little business card/portfolio all in one! Fancy :)

They are handy for posting too, fitting into a small envelope etc. You can get labels for them so you can make your your contact details accessible before the disc has to be put in the computer.
See I am behind the times :) Do you know were to get these for recording? I have never looked at the local computer store...? Great idea Chris, thanks!

Handy for sending odd bits of data to friends/customers that are impractical by 'wire'
