I have Photoshop Elements 4.0 (Mac) and have been taking Raw images on a Nikon D80. The images open in Elements but no Camera Raw dialog box appears with them.

The Nikon NEF LE Plugin is installed in the Elements folder under Plug-ins/File Formats.
The Camera Raw 4.0 Plugin is installed in Library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS2/File Formats.

If I move either of these plugins from their locations I can't open the Raw files.

Any ideas on what I have to do to display the Camera Raw dialog box please? I can manipulate the images using the standard edit and Hidden Power tools but presumably I should be able to access this dialog box.

Try copying the ACR plugin over to the Elements plugin folder.

I've sorted it by deleting the Camera Raw 4.0 plugin and replacing it with the 3.7 version - and then deleting the Nikon NEF LE plugin. It seems the Mac version of PE 4 doesn't support the Camera Raw 4.0 plugin. It all works fine with the earlier version. Thanks for your response anyway.

Tony, I have a D80 also and have read that Elements 3 (which I'm using) supports Nikon RAW images. Can you tell me what I need to do to get that to happen? As it is, I can't open NEF files in Elements. Where can I get the plug-ins I need?
Thanks, Will

I believe that for Elements 3 you need the Camera Raw 3.6 plugin. It is available at www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3547

Thanks, Tony.

The link you sent was for the Mac download. For anyone following this thread, the Windows download it at
