My point is to make a scanned image look like a digital image (taken by a digital camera)

I'm not a retoucher, but my workflow after scanning is generally...

-Correct perspective if necessary
-Eliminate noise or JPEG aritifacts
-Color Correct
-Clone/Heal as necessary

I always scan at a minimum of 300 DPI at full size (usually 8.5 x 11 or 5 x 7).

I'm not a retoucher either, but just took a course on Lynda.com the other day. It mentioned:
-Do major color changes first- levels, curves, shadows/highlites
-image size & resolution
-cropping and straightening
-make selections
-replacing, retouching, editing

Am sure the pro's have their own workflows (depending on what they shoot and their style) and the above was just one person's opinion.
