Swampy 07-08-2007, 11:30 AM I had fun with this using Trimoons sketching technique with a couple tweaks. Steve Conway 07-08-2007, 01:56 PM Hi Swampy...nice pic. Check your email. Steve C. oltenius 07-08-2007, 02:38 PM Great picture and renditions! I used a watercolor technique. Dan Swampy 07-08-2007, 03:49 PM Nice, Oltenius. Yours has a whimsical feel. Steve... Hey, it looks more Van Gogh than Lautrec. <wink> Peter S 07-08-2007, 04:34 PM Nice one Swampy, I thought I'd try something similar myself. Peter Kraellin 07-08-2007, 11:50 PM nice, dee dee. i like how you simplified it. oltenius, great use of color wheel rules. i've been on an enhance kick lately. rather than paint, i've been trying to simply bring out more of the image or just better it somehow as a photo, while still running over into the art area a bit. so, i cleaned things up a bit first, then tinted the water and changed the flower color. i followed that with a usm and a clarify and cropped the whole thing down a bit. Swampy 07-09-2007, 07:29 AM Peter, very nice and soft! Craig, Excellent job. Great Crop and color corrections. lkroll 07-09-2007, 07:56 AM Really like Oriental Gardens Dee Dee. Did some preprocessing (ACE, AAA Fotofix, etc.) and then did some vector simplication blending. :) Kraellin 07-09-2007, 08:12 AM thanks, dee dee :) i look at it this morning and i think i maybe got it a bit too grainy. might have to tone that usm down a bit. nice, lk. i like that :) oltenius 07-09-2007, 09:43 AM Dee and Craig, Thanks for the kind words! Its a pleasure to see all the great renditions in this thread! Regards, Dan Steve Conway 07-09-2007, 09:44 AM Steve... Hey, it looks more Van Gogh than Lautrec. <wink> I've got to do something about that! And thanks. Steve C. Better purple then green Dee Dee. lol Thanks for your comments too Craig. :) Kraellin 07-09-2007, 10:49 PM you're welcome, lk. and steve, definitely van gogh strokes on yours. CathyH 07-10-2007, 08:33 AM Here is what I came up with. Another water color version. Swampy 07-10-2007, 08:35 AM Cathy, I like your rendering of the water. The reflections are very good. Steve Conway 07-10-2007, 10:30 AM you're welcome, lk. and steve, definitely van gogh strokes on yours. I hope this modern method meets with his approval. Steve C. glikster 07-10-2007, 10:40 AM I went oriental the whole way with this one. Swampy 07-10-2007, 11:36 AM Very nice, Glikster! What software did you do that in? glikster 07-10-2007, 11:44 AM Very nice, Glikster! What software did you do that in? Thank you! Photoshop CS2. I used the Impressionist plug-in quite a lot. CathyH 07-10-2007, 02:54 PM Cathy, I like your rendering of the water. The reflections are very good. Thanks Swampy, this is a really nice garden. Did you take the photo? cathy Swampy 07-10-2007, 02:58 PM No, it came from morgue files. sylvia1065 07-10-2007, 03:34 PM Very nice picture! Thanks for sharing it, Swampy! Good jobs done already!!! Here's mine, done the cartoony way. Sylvia pavel123 07-11-2007, 10:51 AM Swampy, thank you for the photo. klautt 07-11-2007, 10:59 AM This was a fun picture to work on. Thanks, Swampy. Swampy 07-11-2007, 11:47 AM Klautt: Nice brush strokes. Pavel: Your graphic pen runs opposite from mine. In Photoshop it runs top right to bottom left. Cool. Sylvia, hardly "cartoony". I'd say a nice watercolor. pavel123 07-11-2007, 04:44 PM Pavel: Your graphic pen runs opposite from mine. In Photoshop it runs top right to bottom left. Cool. Thanks. Actually, it was angled brush strokes in Photoshop run on a mask (sort of). Never used graphic pen filter before. Now that you mentioned it, look like a nice tool. Thank you for the tip. Pavel |
