I have had a request from a co-worker inquiring as to whether or not I could period date some clothing. Her relatives were Native Americans who walked the Trail of Tears. I thought there was a website somewhere that had photos of the several types of apparel with the dates and descriptions of the items, but google and ask.com didn't provide satisfactory results. Thank you.

hi pj,

hopefully, this will get more attention in the 'history, conservation, and repair' forum.

Hi, I just happened across a very nice website a couple of weeks ago. They seem to have put a lot of hard work into the site and seems to be filled with very useful information.

Click on the photography link in the left frame.

I really enjoyed looking and learning through the information. Hope this helps.

A long time ago I worked in a research library and I still love to hunt things down. Found a promising link but her photos only go to 1919:

Also found this one:

Didn't have time to pursue the links but it looks very promising.

Cheers,
