Doug, our fearless leader, ran a similar poll years ago, but I suspect that things have changed. Knowing what percentage of our members has high-speed connections and how many have dial-up can help when planning projects or linking to large images, Flash presentations, etc.

Well I feel like it's a tin can and a length of wet string, but I'm reliably informed by my ISP that it's dial-up.
Have had as yet unsubstantiated rumours (no doubt intended to spread alarm and discord) that the village I live in may get connected to the 21st century this year. But they said they were getting rid of the stocks and the ducking stool as well, and that still hasn't happened, so I'll wait till it occurs before I start getting excited.

Gary, I'm glad you noticed that option in the poll since it was "inspired" by you. ;)

First things first -- first, the stocks, then the ducking stool, then the internet connection. :)

I have cable when T-W feels like supplying service - it can be slow and the service is known to take unscheduled time off just to irritate me.

No, first the Bear Pit, then the Stoning Square, then the Stocks, then the Ducking Stool, then the internet connection. :)
