I got up very early to take pictures at Arches in eastern Utah and was so hoping that this picture would turn out like I pictured. It is a tad blurry and didn't print well. It is, however, absolutely great for painting. Go for it and make wonderful paintings.

Fun image, Janet, thanks a lot! :bigthmb:

No painting here, just a lot of filters with extreme settings.

Janet - very nice job. I love Arches National Park. We spent 2 days there in Feb '06 on a photo trip to that whole area. I could've spent the whole time there. Hopefully, I'll get to go back there again.

WOW Ro. I wish the original could have been that detailed. Maybe then I would have kept up the processing. :)

Yeah, I know what you mean about Arches. However, the exhaustion after three days of getting up before the chickens for early light and waiting until dusk for evening light was almost too much. I was glad to relax and do laundry before having to fly back home.

Oh yeah, but it's a good exhaustion  Our 9 day trip in '06 covered White Sands, Gila cliff dwellings, Canyon de Chelly, Arches Natl park, Monument Valley, and Chacao canyon and a few other minor spots along the way. This past Feb. we took another 9 days and caught Montezuma Castle Natl Monument, Sedona, Sunset crater, Marble Canyon, Coral Pink, Zion, Bryce, Escalante, Capitol Reef, and a short stop on the way back at Grand Canyon. A few other spots along the way also. Several of the trails were closed due to snow/ice at Zion but they didn't tell you until you had already hiked back there  . It seemed the weather didn't cooperate much this year, so we didn't seem to get as many shots in. Oh well, let's see where we end up in '08 as it hasn't been planned yet. Here's one from Capitol Reef if I remember correctly.

Nice pic. It sure looks like "home". I'm originally from the scenic state of Utah. LOTS of photo ops!!!
