It gave me a good laugh anyway. pixelzombie 07-13-2007, 11:26 AM printers are doing the same thing these days, they want you to know all the CS3 apps related to printing, you have to know how to color correct, trap, make plates, page assembly, preflight, MS word, excel, and a bachelors degree would be nice as well and you have to have prior experience so you can make 30k a year... pixel_monkey 07-13-2007, 12:32 PM Ouch!
As much as I hate to admit, this ad is still better than all the ads I've read in L.A. None of them offers more than $12 here. I came across this one ad that required the retoucher to have extensive experience in PHP programming while paying $10 per hour. Ads like that irritate me more than dealing with traffic in L.A.
On the other note, pixartindia is the perfect example of some posters here that don't bother to read or read the posts in their entirety before replying. Benny Profane 07-13-2007, 05:27 PM You gotta admire his enthusiasm, though. Reminds of a dog I had once. Say "out?" once, and he's be out of a deep sleep, right at the door, wagging his tail. WishfulPixel 07-15-2007, 12:56 AM Poor Pixart, he's a good guy, just eager to get some extra experience, but yeah the timing on that was perfect!
i live in NY and Craigslist is teh WORST! there are some many postings looking for extremely underpriced retouching for superior work, or they just blatently want retoucher to be labeled as a photo assistant, or an intern. Dont get me wrong, retouching is still an art and there have always been apprentices, but COME ON! pixartindia 07-15-2007, 10:48 AM The first thing about comedy is timing, and that reply from pixartindia has got to be classed as comic genius.

And then you replied. I presume from your Forum Name that you are from that part of the world.
Sorry, we weren't so much laughing at you, but at the timing of your offer, and the apparent confirmation of Benny's opening comments.
If my comments have caused you any distress and embarrassment, I do apologise. | |
