As you can see I have my work cut out for me. Where do I start? Larger photo now attached. Thanks

Louie, you might start by posting a larger version of the photo. Working or evaluating a 2 inch wide photo is not easy, nor is it fun. If you use Photoshop, use Save for Web to adjust the dimensions and file size (max 100k).

Swampy is correct. To get a quality retouch a larger image will be needed. This is just a quick attempt to give you a little idea of what can be done.

Swampy, I'm sorry for the small pic. I'm new to this. Thanks for the info on resizing. I have attached another one.

That is amazing!!! I wish I would have had the larger image for you to work with. Sorry about that. Swampy told me how to upload a larger image and I did. Now the important question......How did you do that? LOL. Can you point me to some reading material or videos I can get to learn how to restore and retouch like that?

Went back and gave it a second try with the larger picture. Much more detail with which to work. Not sure that the color is correct for the skin, eyes, and hair.

Nice work DCobb!

Just a matter of careful cloning Louie and smudging to blend it all in. ;)

- cleaning
-red channel lowered brightness & enhanced contrast
-color balance
-hue/saturation
- Portraiture just a bit for smoothing
- and at last high pass filter 1.7 at 42% opacity
