This is my first retouch post, and I thought I'd get opinions/suggestions. This is my son's wedding pic and I just wanted to touch up a little....remove glasses glare and smooth the skin a little and blur background just a little. I really wanted a fairly natural look. I used Corel Paint Shop Pro skin smoother and cloning tools. Anyway, let me know what you think. I am very new to this. I hope the pictures post correctly!

well, the result is good...the skin is a bit blurred, seeing the original the skin doesn't need so much skin treatment...I would go for glow feeling here to enhance the feeling. the background is a bit difficult without loosing the the brides hair! So therefor I would go for a more glowing feeling...

Thanks Gerry...I will probably play with it some more. The background is very difficult. The only "props" in this church was one table and some fake ivy!

Hi Sue,

You did a great job in getting the reflection out of the glasses. Perhaps darkening the background-softening so that it does not compete with the couple?

Thanks for the suggestions dc and pranavy. Glasses are so hard. I think I will carry a pair of empty frames everywhere I go and say "wear these!" lol.

What process did you use to rid the glasses of reflections?

Thanks Midge. I enlarged the photo and used the clone stamp. There may be an easier way, but I am not aware of it.

Sometimes when taking out eyeglass reflections, you end up with a tiny bit too much white in the eyes. Often a soft dark grey line at the top can reduce that effect. This also would reduce the effect of the guys larger eye making the girls eyes appear smaller.

Darkening the background makes you lose the mans hair and suit. Perhaps a little shift to dark but more russet on the background? The disappeared hair also makes his ear look bigger, and the tiny reflections behind the ear are distracting.

I would also take a bit of the refection from the guys lower lip.

I used Burn, Dodge & Clone to get rid of the reflections.
