Texturizer (http://www.manucornet.net/Informatique/Gimp_Texturize.php) (be aware of a stupid Quicktime plugin that my pop-up blocker prevents from launching) is a cool plugin that can be used to create random fill (or tileable, but I've had some crash issues with this part of the plugin {not system crash, but isolated plugin crash}) using a smaller sample. I used this sample (http://www.fontplay.com/freephotos/2nd500n/fpfree112404-015.jpg) from the free photo index to create the larger version. :)
