I started with the original image. Then in addition to what has been done I tried to improve the focus and did a little smoothing of the skin on the ladies. The focus adjustment produced some small artifacts. dc des151 07-23-2007, 09:55 AM Hi Cumbrian, I like the old b&w pictures. Also your Gt Grandad has a great mustache. Ray Swampy 07-23-2007, 10:44 AM I selected the luminacity (Mac Option+Command+Tilde) and jumped it to a new layer, set that layer for Multiply. (Dupe the multiply layer one or more times to make the white areas darker). Ran a highpass on a merged version. chillin 07-23-2007, 10:32 PM I duplicated the layer, adjusted levels to match the sides of the original & use masking to blend with the background layer. Some high pass filter & toning. Cumbrian 07-24-2007, 12:53 AM Thank you DCobb,Des151,Swampy and Chillin for your excellent results, much better than my own effort,i am now practicing with some of your techniques. Thanks Again.Cumbrian Alison 07-24-2007, 02:15 AM Hi Cumbrian, Here is my effort, but I can't remember all of what I did  Got some artifacting going on in the blown out areas.
