It's always hard to resist a Mike Warren Challenge... and in this case it will be hard to better the original picture. Great one Mike!

I've been working with the Pencil Pixel actions a little in the past few weeks and and these 2 I like a lot.

First I used Buzz Simplifier 1 at a relatively low setting and then I applied the Soft watercolor action to the first image.

Itso Neimen Acion was used on the second after the same Buzzing

Hi Bob!

Thanks for playing. Love the watercolor wash look-really looks like it was hand painted! Nice edges and texture as well.

Nice style on the second one too. It look like it was sponge painted.
Both are how photo-art paintings should look, like you aren't sure it was generated from a photograph, yet it still looks like the subject matter.

Good job!

Palms,

Beautiful!
Great job-Love the background!

It looks soft and furry like a stuffed animal.
I'd actually prefer to touch that than the real thing... :)

Thanks for playing!

Thanks Mike
It's always a pleasure to be in one of your challenges.

The watercolor has a look that I've been trying to get for quite a while now - and I'm really happy with it. I think I'll be trying it on several different subjects to see if it works as well.

Everyone is setting the bar really high on this challenge. What wonderful entries, both here and at Mike Warren's pbase site.

This was really fun to work on and be creative. I used a couple of pictures I took (there were no copyright restrictions :) ) Thank you for giving us this challenge.

Nice job Janet!
Great shot of the flying Eagle and background.
Like your composition and technique-looks like a painting on canvas board.
This would make a nice book cover about this great Eagle.
He is shown reminiscing on his younger days when he used to fly all around... :)

Thanks for playing!

I think you found the missing link between the Dodo Bird and the Eagle! :)
Great background texture-nice smudging.

I used Gertrudis and photoshop together to achieve this painterly look. Chalk brushes in Photoshop worked great and the smudging went well I thought. What do you all think?

Had to give this picture another try. I gave Mr. Eagle a smoother, clean-cut look.
