The subject for this month's competition has been chosen by the winner of our July competition -- SwampDonkey!

The theme for August 2007 is "Sunrise". That should allow for a variety of subjects to be included - people and landscapes and animals.

Deadline for submitting your image: Wednesday August 29th, 2007 at 12 pm EDT.

The goal of this thread is to inspire more of us to grab our camera and actually use it. New photos are our goal, but we will accept recently photographed/recently processed images that fit the topic also.

If you can share, we'd love to hear when you shot the image, any shooting info you have (shutter speed, ISO, f-stop, filters used, post-processing (normal photo processing allowed - sharpening, adjust exposure -- this isn't the place for art filters [we have forums for that too!])

Feel free to add info about what/where you shot, and why you chose your subject/composition, etc. when you post your image in this thread.

What does the winner get? The winner gets to choose the next assignment PLUS gets all the nice accolades that come from being chosen "Winner".

Post your photo submissions in this thread, and we'll have the separate thread for discussion of this assignment and your comments regarding any of the entries that strike your fancy.

Again, we'll let all RetouchPro members take part in the voting, whether they have submitted an entry or not.

At the moment it is too cold and very wet here in Tasmania, so I found a pic that was taken earlier this year, which I have made adjustments to the levels and a small curves adjustment as well. It was taken at St Helens, on the north east coast of Tasmania. St Helens is the most easterly point in Tasmania.

Taken with
Panasonic FZ-20
F6.5

ISO 80

I haven't made it up in time for "Sunrise" either, Janet. Anyone who wants to comment on possible disqualification -- please post in the discussion thread. I don't really know if there's a way to determine whether a photo is a sunrise or a sunset -- if anyone knows how to tell the difference, post that also in the discussion thread. :)
