I have never had this happen before. My digital camera went a little nuts on this photo. I wanted to see if anyone knows of a way to try and save this picture. I've tried correcting the color with photoshop but I'm not that advanced of a user to correct this much red. Please help if you can. If you could please post directions for repairing this if there are any, I want to learn the technique. Thanks for the help.

I've been working on this for a couple of hours and with the help of the other posts suggestions I think I pretty much got it. Thanks for the help.

The color in the bottom part I corrected using a 3rd party filter from Kodak. Next I separated the two parts of the picture and put each on their own layers. Used Hue/Sat to correct the color. Shifted the top part to match the bottom. Merged the two layers and cleaned up using the clone tool and healing brush. I am sure there is an easier way to do this and hopefully someone with share they way with you.

Was looking at the top half of the picture again. I think the walls are white and not yellow. Added a white wall picture.

It looks like the file is corrupted...possibly during the transfer process, so the original file in your cf card might still good. Try transferring the file from your camera again and see if it there's any help.

I have tried that. Even when viewing the picture on the camera it looks like this.

I did about the same thing DC did. I didn't do any cloning or clean up, just tried to get the two sections matching in color and position.

Looks like you might have had a shutter problem

If you select the red area using the polygon laso and then Image>Adjust>Match Color and check the Neutralize box, it does a pretty good job of eliminating the red cast. Then you just need to level adjust the top section. I added a blank layer set to color blend mode and selectively painted to match up the wall and hair color. Not the neatest job but only spent a few minutes on it.

I did much the same as MisterMonday. Used the rectangular selection tool on the red part and Image>Adjust>Match Colour and checked the Neutralise box. I did the same with the top part of the image, but checked the 'ignore selection box' as well and it seemed to bring the colour out. Then I did a bit of patching, cloning and cropping.

Hi there

I used the neutralize box in the match color dialog to get a good start removing the red. Then a few curves and some cloning to finish.
