I was going for a more natural watercolor look. It's just very hard to achieve in Photoshop, but I'm happy with this result. So much depends on the brush(s) you use. Buzz or other simplifying method is also important. (If you don't have the Buzz plug-in try Filter>Pixelate>Facet a number of times (like 10 or more on something as complex as this photo) Noise reduction filters will also simplify.

I played with so many brushes and filters on this, but do remember that Nagel's Series 40, Ragged brush two came as close as anything to getting where I wanted to go, so I used that as a Pattern Stamp brush.

Swampy,

Your watercolor renditions always turn out spectacular whatever method you use. I always look forward to seeing them and hearing about the techniques you use.

I can't seem to get beyond using just filters and actions - probably because I just don't spend enough time and practice enough

Perhaps, if you find the time, you could do a tutorial on some of your various methods. That would certainly help me and I know others would value it as well. No pressure tho! Really!

I was also trying to find the site you use for those great pictures and I was getting directed to some strange sites - many of which seemed to want to download some kind of tool to my browser. Is that what you experienced?

Bob... the pics are from Cool Wallpapers (http://www.coolwallpapers.org/)

I'm working on a watercolor tutorial. Problem is getting it within a 10 minute time frame since my hosting site has limitations.

Thanks Swampy,

For the tutorial - if there is a time limit - you could always do a 2-parter and then you wouldn't have to spend a lot of time figuring out what to include or what to cut.

The Photoshop Mama tutorials sometimes have 5 or more parts

Just an alternative

Look forward to what you produce

Thanks

So you have Fairy cakes, furry cats and flattened kids. That certainly a theme and a half.

Great picture - I really like small foot bridges

Couple of filters - couple of adjustments - couple of actions

Same ol' same ol' - but I like the effects
