This was too good a opportunity to miss, pity i didnt get all the basket in.
Also it will show Peter S that i am still a cat lover and that wherever she wants to sleep is fine by me ( she has claws and teeth you know )

looking forward to your art work as always

Palms
Heres one i have always wondered should i colour correct before posting ? or leave it up to the individual ?

Hi Palms thanks for the cute kitty to work on.
Janet yours is really nice, I like the way you cropped it nice and close, it give it more emphasis on the cat.

here is mine, I tried to add some antique cracks but I think they need more work.

Cool cat

My cat IGGY has several baskets, numerous beds, 2 condos and any number of cardboard boxes that have happened our way.

Where does he choose to park himself - if available - a shoe box that he basically only gets about half of his butt into.

Combining Impressionist (James Brown) with Angled Brushstrokes and a tad of Eye Candy Jiggle, you get this (well, some cleaning smudges added; sat/color adjustments too). Here (http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/8642/catinbasketdq7.jpg)'s the full rez version. :)

Palms

Thanks for your interest.

I know what you mean about living in their house - I just don't want to admit it out loud - afraid I'll be charged rent payable in fish or gophers or snakes.

How I did it

cropped of course - then ran a light Buzz 1 Simplification
I recently got the Pencil Pixels actions and since I really like several of them, I end up trying 10 or 12 different ones on the Buzz result. Sometimes I apply the same action twice and sometimes one PP action over another.

Then the dilemna comes - choosing a couple to use. so, using Ifranview (free windows file viewer & more) I run a slide show of all my versions (23 this time).
Some get cut and I run it again until I can pick the "top" 2 or 3.

Hope that helps

Hi Diane, thank you. Our little persian unfortunately died about 5 years ago. The one "napping in the green" is getting kind of old now, he is 14,5 years old and suffers from diabetes..our "sugar-cat". Hope to have him around for still a long time. I am especially attached to him since he is a "born-in-home-kitty" :-) They were five and he is the oldest and - of course - bravest one...eyes still closed but hissing at me..:-)

@ all: I have been watching through the pics here and am really stunned about your skills and ideas about putting things up...wish I could get only near there. Well, I keep trying...thank you so much for all your excellent advices and inspirations..

Hi Janet, I wish he would, but unfortunately when he sees the lense approach he uncharmingly turns his back - or even worse parts :-) - on it. Only chance to get some decent shots is --> blackmail with some promising foods - or when he is sleepy:-)

Do not let Peter S. anywhere near your cat until he swears not to eat her! ;)

They are real cute Amica, not that it is in the wrong place but repost them ( change there name first) in a new thread, other wise they may get lost here and fewer people will see them and be able to "have a go " :)

No problem Palms. since cats sleep most of the day anyway. That last one is also a cute shot.

We had cats when I was growing up, and when our kids were growing up, but we are catless now. My brother has two, a Maine Coon and a light gray and white tabby.

cute cate, palms :)

first things first... this is how i would treat this photo as a photo. basically, it's a crop (several) a usm sharpen (2/100/5), a clarify (9), and Paint Shop Pro's depth of field filter. oh, and a levels adjustment. this one is suitable for printing at 7x9.

Kraellin

and then another using a filter forge filter of my own design.

and the 2nd one here is a bit weird, but i kind of like it. it's also from a filter forge filter, by Redcap, named 'Tiffany Glassworks'.

and the 3rd one is from a filter of mine that won me a high use award (good towards purchasing further FF products). this is from 'Glass Menagerie II'.

And i like the third one best but does that make me biased ? :)

Great shot, Palms. And I don't even like cats... LOL

LOL, Plams... she probably would. Cats seem attracted to me and I don't know why. I don't dislike cats, I'm just ambivalant about them. We always had barn cats around the dairy, but they were feral and not too friendly.

nice watercolor, dee dee. is your tut in the tut forum?

Kraellin
08-27-2007, 10:59 PM
hope this is ok with everyone. gonna go a bit nuts with pics here.

the first is from a filter called 'plastic lexan' by CF&M... filter forge. these are all from filter forge makers.

the 2nd is from 'pointelist'.

and the third is from 'shark tank' by Crapadilla. no kitties were harmed in the making of this image.

fourth is from 'silver surfer' (one of mine).

and last in our fall collection (for this post) is, 'simple sketch', by photoman.

our next viewing will be in one hour. please exit the gallery at this time. snacks are waiting in the outer lobby.

ok, three more and i'll quit for the night.

all filter forge filters again.

first, steviej's chrome2

second, steviej's metal (told you he does a lot of glass or glass looks)

and third, 'utility belt' by Redcap.

please remove your wallets and purses and leave them on the tables as you exit. gold watches and diamonds will also be accepted.
