Hi,
I was just asked if I could fix this picture of a little girl that just died at the hospital. As this kind of thing is not my forte, I thought I could pass it along and see if anybody can help with it.

I am looking forward to seeing what our experts can do. Looks to me like all channels are gone.

So sad... Certainly not much to work with, but I gave it a try nonetheless.

I see that you are a senior member and what I am saying may already have been considered; however, I would ask if the picture posted here is a scan of a photograph or a negative, or if it is a digital image from a camera? If the picture was taken with a film camera, and the negative is available, you can sometimes get more usable data from a negative than from a scan of the print.

Also, how the scan of a print or negative is done can make a difference in the data obtained. You might want to give consideration to having the print/negative scanned or evaluated by professionals to see if they could get you a better image for retouching or printing.

Thank you so much for working on this picture. I'll transmit them to the person who sent it to me in the first place, along with your questions, dc.

really not much i could with any certainty. there just isnt enough definition here. i'm with the others when they suggest a re-scan or trying to find something a little cleaner.
