Hi everyone. I am in need of your opinion. I have 10 kids. Yes you read that right..LOL and we are having a good friend take a family picture and I need your opinion on what color of shirts everyone should wear. Do you think we should just stick to white? The pictures will be taken outside in the early evening.

I was thinking on everyone wearing Jeans. Or do you think I could get away with blue for the boys and pink for the girls..Or

Should I for the group photo have everyone in white shirts and then have all the boys in a photo with blue and the girls in pink? Or just keep everyone in white?

Here's some nice info about posing.

Good luck! With 10 children make sure to take multiple shots with the same pose since you're not likely to get them all looking at the camera at the same time. You can then replace heads where necessary.

I would recommend against white shirts. It is so "glarry" and too easy, even in late afternoon light to get blown out. I'd opt for kelly green or royal blue shirts. Everybody in blue jeans gets my vote.

Similar tips to the ones already given, with photos to help you visualize what your portraits might look like. Do you know what the background is likely to be for your outdoor portrait -- color(s), light/dark, etc. Think about that also. The main idea is to accentuate each of those faces, and not have clothing/shoes/socks/hair that detracts from them or takes attention away from them. It is good that you are planning for this a bit ahead of time because it will make a real difference in how the portraits look, and it's probably hard to get everyone together.

As Bill said -- be sure to take multiple shots -- it's hard for one person to "look relaxed and keep their eyes open and hold their position etc.", much less 10 or 12 people to all do it at the same time. ;)
