September 07 Contest- Retouching Contest
The art director wants a character design prototype for an untitled movie that is still in the planning stages. But they need to show the finished photo to potential investors, so it must look as photographic as possible. Once approved, it will be used by the makeup and effects department to replicate in real life. The character is an ice princess.

Given this is a prototype character and funds from investors are required, I reckon this character has to be a strong character, and a lead character, good or bad, to attract interest in investment.

I tried for a translucent "icy" look. It was tough trying to match those blue lips with the rest of the stuff.

Heres my try for this month:grin: Wanted to go a bit more LOTR rather than disney. Made her face more symetrical by copying the left hand side and flipping it over onto the right, but then looked too unnatural, so reshaped the nose and mouth using liquify tool, adjusted eyes slightly, to give a slight difference to the two sides but not as much as in the original photo. Then blended in. Used neat image to clean up skin (finding it leaves skin textures nicely) Added Necklace, recoloured to suit.
She actually has a subtle snowflake pattern to the blue in her eyes, but you cant tell in the 500 by 750 pixels image.

Well, here's my chilling attempt. I really tried to make it feel as though the photographer could have just walked up to her and snapped her photo as if this is how she really was at the time.

I look forward to any critiques in the discussion thread.

Didn't know how to crystalize the hair so I just plastic wrapped it and placed some snow to make it look "chilly". If anyone is wondering where the teeth came from you can see them when you blow the photo up really big. I used them because I thought it made her smile more "interesting".

ok here is my try. i tried to stay with a look that would be possible in real life. so i basicaly gave her a light dust of powder foundation. the makeup on her eyes even though its computerized can be done with real makup and fake eyelashes one set of white eyelashes folowed by a set of black in front. smokey eye effect with fusha and blue and black. I also plucked the ladies eyebrows and drew in more of an arch. On her lips i did what most makeup artists would do with a blue lipstick. just a light blue blended to a cool peach.
On the hair would basicaly be died gray with light blue highlights and sprayed with non-toxic- window snow. So this look is possible in real life. Let me know what you all think.
