Danny's recent train thread reminded me of some pictures I took last year.

My brother-in-law is a garden railroad buff and has a very extensive setup in his back yard.

For his birthday we took him on a steam engine train ride.

It went from a fairly small town in eastern California - about 10-15 miles out - to a barren area where the only thing there were turkey farms (ranches?) - and returned. Lunch was served and the train was "robbed". He, the brother-in-law, got to ride with the train engineer - even got to toot the whistle.

This was actually the second "robbery" of the day - the first was at the ticket counter.

Have your way with the "robber"

Just playing with Neon Edge detect. Someone else can do better. Used Microsoft Word's Text effect for the text. :)

Lived in Atlanta years ago, and they had a train trip such as this. Went out to Stone Mt. from downtown Atlanta. Lots of gun play and of course that train was also robbed by dastardly villans.

That's GREAT Palms! Really funny. Only one problem with it.....I didn't think of doing it first. :)

Hey Steve; me and my ex went to the Laser Light show there at Stone Mountain too (liked in Acworth, GA at the time). I really enjoyed that particular evening. Didn't see the gun show though. :)

They have a lot of fun stuff at Stone Mt.

They may still have the train that runs around the mountain, but I think the one from downtown Atlanta is now out of business.

That was quite a few years ago.

Ackworth eh? Bet you wouldn't recognize it now. I left Atlanta in the '80's and couldn't find my way around last time I was up there.

Palms - I love it.

I'll see if I can find a profile of my brother-in-law and overlay it.
