Nice one palms..and yes it was a good show, we were there 5 hours and still didn't see it all, and the weather was great.
Lonnie this is terrific, what's the skyline in the background?
Swampy, do you know what flower that one is? I'm not a gardening man.

Well it started as a Passion flower, but I think its ended up as a Dandy 'Lion'

Used a method Palms brought to the site, duped flipped and changed blend mode.
Altered the colours with a Cybia plugin - Vivida (a freebie that does some nice things with colours)
Also a little Redfields and a frame added for good measure.

Peter, that is really, really nice. What method did you use to mask those pine needles? Very well done.

Thanks Swampy.
No masking done here. Just Desaturated the card with the sponge tool then carefully cloned the letters and edges out. The desaturation brought it more or less the same as the background. Easier than masking all those edges.

Thanks, Palms. The #djr spattered paint style for Impressionist produces an interesting effect.

Thanks, Swampy. I was going for a textured/dimensional/layered/OOB thingy, if ya get my meaning.

Britsdad: The cityscape background is a scene designed for Poser (or one of those 3D proggies). I find they also add spice to some of my 2D efforts.

Awesome symmetry rendition, Peter S. and speaking of 3D, that next one is really deep.

First I applied an Akvis’ Sketch filter & then I used the outcome picture to generate an oil painting.

Nice pics people,
Palms...very deep reading, and a little too religious for me :) , seems a bit strange having a "passion flower" in Rotherham!.....I must admit tho' I'm suprised people got anything to grow here after all the flooding we had.
Lonnie...so the cityscape is one you've created from scratch?

No, I didn't create this particular cityscape, John, though I have built others. There are numerous premade scenes and props available from daz3d.com, contentparadise.com, etc. for Poser, DAZ Studio, Bryce, Carrera, Hexagon, Mimic, etc.

Glad you bought this method back up Peter, i was looking for my notes on it last week and couldnt find them so i was going to trawl through some old threads to find it works brilliant on the passion flower

Sorry Britsdad for the heavy reading i probably could of found a lighter one but was in a rush, Just thought it was a interesting fact, one my mother told me about years ago, funnily enough it is about the only plant that has flourished this year in my garden because of all the rain !

Hi all,
Great pics from all here.
I changed the sky layer to make it look higher, ran that layer through Snapart Impasto.

Balloon layer through Virtual Painter Impasto.

Britsdad, thanks for such lovely pictures!
LonK, I really like the peaceful feeling of the tranquil flowers contrasting the cityscape.
I wanted to try my hand at one of the balloons and thought about putting it in outer space but decided against that. I have a tendency to go too dark with things. Anyway, I cloned/patched out the tie-downs, posterized, played around with a selective color layer, and used Impressionist chalk to finish up.
