hi everyone!

long time reader, but for the life of me i can't figure out how to fix the "see through stringy hair" in the attached pic. i've cloned, healed, cut/paste/transformed, and i just can't fix this mess!

any direction will be greatly, greatly appreciated :depressed

Well, first of all, it's not a "studio" shot. Just some folks kicking back and having fun. Perfection is not called for. :-)

I assumed you were talking about the lady in black and white so....

Clone tool is gonna be your best bet. I just zoomed in and cloned from the hair color into the areas that the sun was shining through to fill in the gaps. Also cloned background areas into the hair edges to smooth out the fly aways.

hey thanks! i tried that and totally blew it, i guess i need more practice. hair always makes me crazy, then the sun almost threw me into an asylum.

I'd say that gives you all the more reason to burn it. :grin:

How about the smudge tool. Took seconds to do. Probably looks it too.

What specifically did you do?

I worked on this in the morning. If I remember correctly, I did a levels adjustment only on the people. Remember doing some burning on the hair and on the lady second from the left, where the hair really had the sun coming through changed that.

I really wan't sure which person(S) had the hair problem. If you have a specific question about a specific person or part of the picture, I will be happy to go back and see if I can remember exactly what I did.

At the time I did this, I felt that the problem had been resolved and did this just for practice.
