Hi all,
Have any of you successfully replaced one sky with another after joining 3 photos together to create a pano?

I'm a complete novice with PS so would appreciate all the help I can get.

I'm also on a very slow dial-up so can't post the photos in question. I have two nice pano's but the one I like most has a washed out cloudy sky. The other has a beautiful sky taken after I purchased a circular polarizing filter, but I'm not so keen on the foreground.

Many thanks in advance
Midge

Hi Midge

Here is a simple way that may work in your case.

Open the photo with the washed out sky

Open the photo with the good sky and Select>All…Edit>Copy

Switch to the washed out photo…then Edit> Paste

If you need to resize use transform now and position as needed.

Now change the good sky layer mode to “Darken”

You have a choice now to clean up… you can just use an eraser and history to remove parts of the good sky you don’t want…or add a layer mask and mask as needed.

Hope this Helps…Butch

Many thanks for your help Butch.

I still can't work it out so have come to the conclusion that I need to get myself a book so I can learn the basics of layers better.
If any of you can suggest an easy to understand one I'd be very grateful.
Cheers
Midge

Midge there are so many books out there and most all of them will help. What I would do is take an afternoon…go to your local bookstore….grab as many books as you can carry…find a soft chair and read the first chapter of each. You will find one the that works for you I’m sure.
