DannyRaphael 09-27-2007, 02:53 PM Wish I could "free hand" this well... palms1 09-28-2007, 01:47 AM You show a great talent and a fair bit of patience. Yes it would be nice to be able to freehand and many of us cant/dont/wont but there again not many of us try, maybe with some encouragment and basic pointers we could try ? up to prompting us at all Jeff ? gettting us out of our "safe zone" ( it's ok not mandatory ) Palms ftp-Jeff 09-28-2007, 04:05 AM Yes it would be nice to be able to freehand and many of us cant/dont/wont Well there you go.... You should all practice! can't/don't/won't = file tweakers and smudgers. Do's = creative retouchers. I have never met a decent Creative retoucher, that cannot draw, paint or sketch! You have to have this skill under your belt, or where are you going? Perhaps I can sort some stuff out.... It really depends on time. Jeff www.ftpcreative.co.uk ftp-Jeff 09-28-2007, 04:11 AM Here is one I started a while back, but did not finish....... About 1/hr. work here. This is simple basic stuff... You should try it. It is really relaxing too! zganie 09-28-2007, 05:37 AM Hi Jeff. nice stuff are you using photoshop or another program to create these images zganie ftp-Jeff 09-28-2007, 05:38 AM I use potatoshop. ftp-Jeff 09-28-2007, 05:42 AM Hey Zganie, I see you are in Canada! Thats where we should be this time next year, just waiting for visas! Will be out there in 3 weeks location searching! And looking at around Toronto. Jeff palms1 09-28-2007, 05:59 AM Yes it would be nice to be able to freehand and many of us cant/dont/wont Well there you go.... You should all practice! That is what i am starting to realise, can't/don't/won't = file tweakers and smudgers. That's Me  Do's = creative retouchers. I have never met a decent Creative retoucher, that cannot draw, paint or sketch! You have to have this skill under your belt, or where are you going? Perhaps I can sort some stuff out.... It really depends on time. That is usually the biggest problem may i ask on the post of the unfinished lady did you have a outline to follow ? if not that would seem to me to be impossible to do (even unfinished it looks good ) www.ftpcreative.co.uk I do think that those of us who cant/wont/dont are probably more worried about the "appearance" of what we do, and what those who can will say.:) Palms ftp-Jeff 09-28-2007, 06:03 AM layer 1..... I would do a very rough sketch.... I would then start making paths for the various parts.... Then just go in with your brush! jeff ftp-Jeff 09-28-2007, 06:07 AM "I do think that those of us who cant/wont/dont are probably more worried about the "appearance" of what we do, and what those who can will say" OH DEAR... remember this.... "Through failure, we succeed!" Wow! where did that come from!! Jeff zganie 09-28-2007, 06:10 AM Yes Jeff I live in Montreal,my sister lives in Saint Albans just outside London nice place was there last year visiting.Toronto is a pretty busy place ,not sure what the salaries are like though,I know its more expensive to live than Montreal good luck with your move zganie ftp-Jeff 09-28-2007, 06:17 AM We were in BC a few weeks ago, but have now decided the east coast may be better for us. We are looking for something a bit remote, out in the country. I will have a retouching studio, airbrushing studio and a spray booth. Thats the plan anyway. You are the second person to mention Montreal is less expensive. I won't be working for anyone, salary don't really come into it. I will probably only retouch for one more year, then carry on with my painting. Thats the plan anyway! Jeff zganie 09-28-2007, 06:26 AM It is cheaper to live but I think theres a lot more work in toronto plus its all english speaking where as montreal is not.Actually a nice area to live is Saint Catherines/Niagara region its probably a lot cheaper to buy and a really nice area its about an hour out of Toronto roughly and not during rush hour I lived there a few years back I was building hot rods and muscle cars for a shop down there any way something to check out while your there zganie ftp-Jeff 09-28-2007, 06:34 AM OH NO!!!!! zganie!
