For photo restoration work what color settings are the most optimal? Thanks!

Color managment? Thresholds? Color Workspace? Profiles? Highlight - shadow thresholds???? Can you be a little more specific?

Sorry about not being precise. I meant the color settings under edit-color settings. Here is a screen shot of mine. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e81/dkf10425/colorsettings.jpg. I have a message at the top that says "your creative suite applications are not synchronized for consistent color". Could you look at the screen capture and tell what settings I should use for restoration work? Thanks.

OK, that really helps! I recommend that you leave all those setteings exactly as is EXCEPT under the Color Management Policies, CHECK all 3 of the boxes shown. That way, everytime you open an image, you will getting a warning if the color profile of the image you are opening is different from the color space you are working in (Adobe RGB), and you will have 3 options to decide if you want / need to convert it.
Adobe RGB is a very good color space to work in particularly if you intend to print your own images on a home photo printer because it has a wide color gamut. However, just remember that if you are saving images which will be displayed on a web page or printed at a big box printer like Walmart, Costco, etc to convert those images to sRGB or they will look less saturated and dull.
If you plan to do most of your work for web or for images to be viewed on a monitor or to printer as above, or your digital camera images are all sRGB, then it may be more efficient for you to change your color workspace to sRGB.
