Oct Content Entries (http://www.retouchpro.com/contests/may/) plattepro 10-25-2007, 08:20 AM Great Entries! Here are my votes ...
1. cazubi - I thought this was most like the poem (cold, tattered dress and looks like she is going to kill)
2. bobjones - nice eerie look - cold - fits both poem and nice retouch job.
3. designpunk - I thought this was the best retouch but didn't fit the poem quite as well.
4. ncpdoug - yikes - looks like death is coming alright - creepy fx's but the head almost looks backwards...maybe that is intentional.
5. mikkimocole - It looks like you took a lot of time on this and you did a great job - it could have been a little more influenced by the poem for me.
OTHER COMMENTS:
jessibelle15 - I like the mood of this image - her coming from the dark - but she almost looks too nice/pretty.
onfocus - I would have liked to have seen the revision you thought you would repost because I think you had a great start on this!
Good Luck all! jessibelle15 10-25-2007, 08:37 AM 1. ncpdoug -Looked great, but the shadows under the chin need work
2. cazubi -Cold and scary!
3. Lonk -Awesome fx
4. OlBaldy -She was a lil too sexy for the poem I think, but scary still came across. I liked the hands reaching for the victim as well.
5. mikkimicole -Very cool fx CathyH 10-25-2007, 11:50 AM This was really hard to narrow down, the interpretations were very interesting.
Jessibelle - I really like the illustrated look, especially the skin
Platerpro - the most sinister facial expressions
Mikkimicole - I liked the decay look
Cassidy - very good torn fabric
tpaul2 - It is cold and dark Gary Richardson 10-25-2007, 02:36 PM As usual, a wonderfully imaginative crop of entries, and as usual a difficult job making a decision.
I tried to pick based on what I thought the poem was looking for, so some otherwise excellent entries were sidelined because I didn't feel they encompassed the feeling of the verse.
1st Cassidy What a great feeling of emptyness and sadness was captured in the eyes and face of this picture, a real lost soul, cold as the grave. I never had to look any further for a winner.
2nd DesignPunk Loved the idea of the skinned over eyes. Great execution, though lacked the empty pathos of Cassidy's creation, hence 2nd place.
3rd Lonk Had to score this one just for the imagination and execution. Definitely had the "death rattle thrills", though lacked some of the "cold comfort" for me.
4th TPaul Definitely had the right feeling, but for me lacked a little in execution. A little less contrast and a more gradual fade would have improved things for me.
5th Jessibelle15 Right feeling to the image, but lacked the polish of those I placed higher, I liked it a lot. grannysdc 10-25-2007, 03:08 PM 1. LonK _ Details and execution.. Superb
2. CathyH _ A complete character who looks like she embodies the essence of the poem.
3. plattepro _ Excellent concept, everything is relevant.. looked for tatters
4. Janet-Petty _ I just like the picture.. kept coming back to it!
5. jessibelle15 _ I LUV this picture and it would have been at the top if I could have found just a teeny weeny bit of the provided photograph represented.. if it is there.. I missed it.
The same goes for cazubi _ If I were an Art Director I would choose this Character! It stands out from the rest. I guess that makes it Outstanding! but I found no connection to the original photograph ScubaMargie 10-25-2007, 07:31 PM Another month of very good entries. Very well done and thought out everyone.

1: LonK .. the supreme artist, perfectly executed!
2: plattepro .. beautiful concept, great work!
3: cazubi .. your rendering looks great, nice job!
4: Cassidy .. I liked the tattered clothes, smoke/haze, and the overall feel of the picture. Well done looks great!
5: dcolwell4 .. femme fatales who are Evil harbingers of death do not have to be ugly or scary! I thought it was a way cool interpretation.. but probably not for a Halloween project.. I do think it fits the poem perfectly.. It has been 15 years so the connection to a "Stone" cold killer may have been missed by some.. Ms Bay 10-25-2007, 11:24 PM Not all are tattered and torn, but kept the feel of the poem and are down right creepy lookin'! Wouldn't want to meet any of these entries on a street alone:eek: (notice I didn't say dark street).
