Get your crayons out! palms1 10-04-2007, 03:12 PM Gorgeous Photo, Photomaster the only thing is I am a bit peeved as i have to log off now for the night, and i will be thinking of what i could do with it tomorrow  Palms Michel B 10-04-2007, 03:41 PM Good one for testing how far to go with saturation... Michel B Swampy 10-04-2007, 03:49 PM It always amazes this Florida gal how vivid the fall leaves are. Lovely photo PM. Janet Petty 10-04-2007, 07:56 PM The oak leaves are blazing this week so I decided to capture some of autumn's splendor. Get your crayons out! Great, colorful picture for manipulating. T The leaves here are just now "thinking" about turning...but not the oaks. We never get such brilliant colors in the oaks. Brown, brown, brown. You must have really good soil and just the right mix of weather. Thanks for sharing. Janet Photomaster 10-04-2007, 10:47 PM Michael, Swampy nice work. Here is an interpretation done in Painter using the Artist's Impressionist brush. palms1 10-05-2007, 06:23 AM Some sketch/ahb work Palms Swampy 10-05-2007, 08:37 AM Ohhh, that's really pretty, Palms! Steve Conway 10-05-2007, 11:12 AM We get some rather nice fall colors in north Florida mainly from our maples. A few other varieties help out too. Nothing like farther north, but pretty colorful nevertheless. Steve C. cazubi 10-05-2007, 01:16 PM Such a nice picture. Here in Southern Calif our season changes are so subtle that we miss out on the kind of fall weather that some of you get. I used Lucis filters and Buzz action stacks with this image, and used different overlay modes to get this effect. Cathy Swampy 10-05-2007, 01:41 PM Cathy, that is so pretty. Soft but nice texture. cazubi 10-05-2007, 08:24 PM Thanks Swampy. I really like all of the different interpretations that have been posted so far. Cathy lkroll 10-06-2007, 12:36 AM Decided to do another mosaic. Here (http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/5273/leaveses3.jpg)'s the complete rendering. :) Janet Petty 10-06-2007, 10:54 AM These are such lovely examples of a beautiful, I just couldn't resist painting them. The examples above mine are wonderful. I could see a lot of them printed and hung as art on a wall in our homes. Janet sharynideas 10-09-2007, 05:16 AM I thought this picture would be a good time to try out a tryptich. I don't know how well it will show up at low res though. I haven't taken the plunge to set up a gallery anywhere yet. Any suggestions? Shari Swampy 10-09-2007, 05:58 AM Great colors in the middle version, Shari. Alcar 10-09-2007, 08:07 AM Little of this and little of that. Alan mauricep 10-09-2007, 08:39 AM Something I thought of while wandering trough Photoshop-cs3 Regards Bob Mc 10-11-2007, 03:24 PM Cathy, At the time I lived in LA, Johnny Carson used to tell us that it was time for the city landscaping folk to exchange the fake green plastic trees with the fake brown plastic trees. No wonder it was a quick transition. Here's my mild and wild versions Regards Bob Mc GerryB 10-11-2007, 04:58 PM Rendition using AHB. Janet Petty 10-11-2007, 05:20 PM Gerry the leaves are stupendous! Janet GerryB 10-12-2007, 01:06 AM Thanks, Janet. This was my first attempt using my brand new Wacom Intuos3 Special Edition 6 x 8 Pen Tablet. dweekley 10-12-2007, 05:56 AM My first creative attempt. I always love what you creative types do and wanted to jump in on the action. No fall leaves here but I remember them well from many years in Pennsylvania. Thanks for the nice picture. ok, back to work for this 'Creative Wana-Be'.. Doreen Peter S 10-18-2007, 04:39 PM After seeing all these I had to try this one as well. Peter Photomaster 10-19-2007, 04:10 PM Great work everyone. Peter, your work is exceptional. We are fortunate here in Minnesota to have such defined and beautiful seasons. Swampy 10-19-2007, 07:36 PM Peter, you've been texture mapping again. LOL Kraellin 10-19-2007, 11:54 PM delightful picture, but someone spilled. Peter S 10-20-2007, 03:40 PM Thanks you Photomaster I really appreciate it. Swampy go to the head of the class. You should be mod of the Forensics section. Peter Janet Petty 10-20-2007, 04:15 PM Craig, this one of yours brings back a lot of memories of sitting on my aunt's couch during the 50s. The fabric textures were much the same. I spent hours immersed in the patterns and textures while the adults visited. Maybe that's why I ended up a weaver. :) Janet solitear 10-21-2007, 07:25 PM I'll be finished in a minute . . . lkroll 10-21-2007, 07:52 PM Lot's of cool interpretations thus far. Thought I would add my recent passion which I call Splat (used GIMPressionist Ballpark preset but changed the brush to one of the Splats) Furry (another GIMPressionist preset that I modded slightly be setting the background to the image itself instead of the defaults) Impasto. Did a few other things too (as I usually always do). :) bcarll 10-21-2007, 08:15 PM This was going to be a simple smudge and texture try, but after using AHB a little it started looking pretty good. THEN IT HAPPENED !!! I started smudging the outside and forgot to check brush and it was a hair brush instead of a soft brush. It was looking interesting so I continued on. You be the judge -- -did I uncover a new technique? Anyway it made a different border around the leaves. bcarll Kraellin 10-21-2007, 08:17 PM janet, glad i could bring back some pleasant memories :) some of my filter forge textures are based on childhood memories. me, i used to take things apart to see how they worked. and beth, i love that! very clever! and lyle, i like that also! it looks like the colors are just going wild and moving from leaf to leaf. very cool :) lkroll 10-21-2007, 08:36 PM Thanks Craig; that was part of the "other things" category (lol). I used AAA Color Blur filter to blend the colors into the transitions; this filter really does this quite well. Also used AAA Fotofix filter for some addition Sat/Focus enhancements. :) Kraellin 10-21-2007, 09:01 PM ah, the AAA filters. i just mentioned these in the software forum. they've been upgraded. i used to use these a bit before, but probably more so now. they look better. lkroll 10-21-2007, 10:21 PM Thanks for the heads up Craig. Have to go to 8bf's site to check them out. :) GerryB 10-22-2007, 01:21 AM Nice work Peter. How did you create the texture map, if you don't mind divulging? I've made several attempts but have not been successful. Peter S 10-22-2007, 01:37 PM Nice work Peter. How did you create the texture map, if you don't mind divulging? I've made several attempts but have not been successful. Thanks Gerry. I used Swampy's tutorial with a few changes. http://retouchpro.com/tutorials/?m=show&id=267 I applied the texture map direct onto the picture itself and not onto a colour layer. There were some other tweaks of course colour, Levels and so on. I was just playing around a lot until I saw something I liked. Once again thanks for the ideas Swamplady. Peter GerryB 10-22-2007, 05:13 PM Thanks for the info, Peter. I've tried it but can't see to get it to work. I increased the contrast and saved the image as a psd file named map. I duped the background image and when I tried to load the map it wouldn't load. Must be something I did wrong somewhere. I'll keep trying, though. GerryB 10-22-2007, 05:36 PM I started again, with a fresh copy of the original picture and voila, it worked! I guess I had a senior moment. Thanks again to both of you, Peter and Swampy, for the info and the link. Swampy 10-22-2007, 06:11 PM Glad to be of help, Gerry. Peter S 10-23-2007, 04:31 PM Glad to be of help, Gerry.
