I think you did a very good job!!!
The only thing I'm not sure about is the make up on the hair... (but I'm no expert in this...) Godmother 10-05-2007, 06:38 AM Wow!!!

Thanks Flora... Something bothers me about this, it's not even near to being finish... I'm just experimenting, but maybe I shouldn't have messes with the hair.
Keep the feedback coming guys, I need to sort this :) jessibelle15 10-05-2007, 08:51 AM I love it, I think it's gorgeous! I agree though about the makeup in the hair. Usually when I've seen makeup in the hair the lines aren't as clean because of individual hairs shifting. It's looking beautiful though! I wish I could send you stuff that we have been doing here. It's obvious that you high passed the skin over the top of the makeup and it does not look good. Keep the skin that is there. Use color mode and paint your makeup and blend. Try curves to lighten and darken and adjust the color of what you have painted. Add shimmer, shine and fade. Look at how makeup sits on your skin and how one color blends into another. Check out makeup ads for reference. Godmother 10-05-2007, 10:05 AM I wish I could send you stuff that we have been doing here. Let me know what you think! KR1156 10-05-2007, 12:35 PM you might want to pull back on your reds just a tiny bit, in the skin, might help separate things and open the image up a bit. Look a little cleaner.*
one thing that throws me off right away, is when i look at the makeup on her arm, looks like body paint applied very tight and carefully, but then the zig-zag kind of part has a bit of an airbrush edge to it.
*posted wrong image before, just a personal aesthetic on this image, don't mind it, think i like paler, more desat skin tones on this type of image is bc the redish tone reminds me of a digital camera shot. don't mind my sloppy hair masking either. KR1156 10-05-2007, 02:49 PM i am actlually a ilttle curious about the faux makeup application now, i wonder if anyone adds a texture or weight to it, to give it that brushed look, like real makeup has to it. you would see this sort of detail more on a very close cropped face shot. After the color curves are applied, i would try to add some texture into it. Think it can be done a number of ways also. need to experiment. MatthewMarshall 10-06-2007, 02:09 AM Ant could you show us what your talking about by doing an example on her photo? I know you cant show us your studios work but you could edit her photo? Swamped. I'll see about sometime this weekend, but I really can't afford to play at the moment. This internet break is bad enough. jacknick 10-06-2007, 11:00 AM do any of the pros here use displacement maps for applying this artwork on flesh? is it a good way to go? lilysharon 10-06-2007, 11:02 AM You do very nice work!
I like the 1st design but for the blending into the hairline and there's a bit of smudging in the lower part of the design at the cheek.
What a dramatic change. KR1156 10-06-2007, 11:11 AM jacknick, you ever see this piece of michael jordan, done by impact digital...i think they used a bit of mapping to wrap things around his muscle tone. Godmother 10-06-2007, 11:41 AM You do very nice work!

Actually... is just part of a double.
It's not near to be finish, but I'd like to hear your thoughts

K hadn't seen the idea in my mind, so... I guess I would have made the same fix.
I wanted the contrast between warm and cold tones. ruud92 10-07-2007, 11:05 AM Godmother, I like the idea only one thing is bothering me, on her back were her hair is colored red is a Little dark 'smudged' spot. like you did go outside the lines. I like the second one, but only because it looks realistic enough. I think the first one has potential too, if you look at Pascal Dangin's work especially with regards to make up, you will see that the set of brushes that he is using are very, very realistic to real life brushes and therefore end result looks very realistic.
It is obvious you have skills, I think what you need is the key to decode or rather find/sample his/realistic brushes, I'm sure the end result will look fantastic!!!
Cheers You keep getting better and better!!! Bravo!!! |
