I also recently replaced a monitor. This looks great to me on both my monitors, though the new one is slightly more saturated. Does it look like the monitor is properly calibrated to you?

For this effort, I used a source photo from another recent post here at RP (which I can't find.) It required some restoration first.

Any C&C you'd care to offer would be appreciated.

I am hopeless at colourizing Lon, but that looks superb to me, beautiful job.

Lonk it looks great, I'd call the skin tones on my monitor copper/orange but I've adjusted my monitor outside of calibration as it appears when calibrated other's pics look abnormal or very light by comparison. My second monitor which has a slight reddish cast makes this look perfect and the copper/orange appears on my primary monitor which seems to add a bluish tinge

Please give a brief paragraph as to how you added the color so smoothly. I do a lot of restoration and am fairly good my customers and I think. I am no good at adding color and wish I knew how. I have been doing restorations since the 1970's. Coloring with light oils the old way was much easier for me.

hubiii, it took about 2 1/2 hours.

Nicholas, I don't use any one particular technique to add the color. I use at least 4 distinct methods and combinations of those methods. You might want to check the tutorial section of this site for some guidance. I also got started using light oils and/or color pencils on sepia prints back in the 70s.
